Timber roofs: the structure does not take the water
On Madercon roofs, load-bearing timber is not left in the rain. Water is resolved outside — cladding, membrane and, if the system asks, a ventilated cavity — and the beam works dry.
We fabricate and assemble timber roofs for houses and buildings, new-build and refurbishment. Timber gives insulation and an eave that is architecture; it is not the rain layer.
The package is sized for Málaga and Andalusia. Gutters, valleys and flashings are sheet metal or a dedicated piece, never a bare timber edge.

Timber is not the rain layer
A timber roof lasts if water never reaches the structural section. That is the rule, new-build and refurbishment.
- Structure. Rafters, trusses, CLT or glulam. Works under cover.
- Deck and membrane. Continuous deck and waterproof membrane. Water that passes the cladding does not enter the beam.
- Cavity and cladding. Tile, zinc, panel or sheet as the sky face. Never bare timber to water.
- Junctions. Valleys, ridge, parapet and wall in sheet or a dedicated piece, with a drip.

Is Madercon roof timber left in the rain?
No. The beam is not the rain layer. Cladding, membrane and junctions take water away; the structure works dry.
What layers does a well-built timber roof have?
Structure, deck, membrane, batten and cavity if ventilated, and cladding. Gutters and valleys in sheet, not bare timber.
Does it work for new-build and reroofing?
Yes. We build new roofs and refurbish existing packages. The rule does not change: timber does not take the water.
Does a timber roof insulate against Málaga heat?
Timber helps, but summer is the package: insulation, ventilation and cladding. We size it to climate, not only the eave.
