Materials

We use a wide range of materials together — iron, stone, ceramic and others. In structures, roofs and interiors, selection is studied with the project specialists. These are our criteria:

1. Everyday use. Design spaces for living, working and growing: light, layout and connection to outdoors.
2. Envelope. Study insulation, windows, junctions and solar protection as a whole.
3. Acoustic comfort. Define the use of each space and separation solutions with the specialists.
4. Services. Coordinate routes and access points during design, with use and maintenance in mind.
5. Adaptation. Assess changes of use and extensions when choosing structure, layout and junctions.
6. Material expression. Choose texture, colour and finishes around the character of the space and its maintenance.
7. Structure and protection. Define structural design, fire protection and exposure to water in the technical project.
8. Origin and traceability. Review material and treatment documentation with the suppliers.
9. Process and costs. Compare systems using quotations, logistics and work sequence before agreeing a budget and programme.
